Manchester

England

Myself and Charmin took an Aer Lingus flight to Manchester and then got some form of train into the centre of the city. The hotel was near there. We walked.

WHERE TO STAY

We stayed in the Princess on Portland which I thought was a bit ironic seen as we work with so many queens. It was very central to everything and near enough to the shoppin’ streets, Chinatown and the gay area which is handy you know with me being something of a gay icon and everything. There’s loads of hotels around there as well and the good thing about Manchester is that they’re not too dear. Unless you’re trying to be posh like!

WHERE TO EAT

Chinatown is a great place if you’re into the Chinese food and buffits are everywhere and not too expensive! I won’t lie, I was probably the size of the Isle Of Man coming home! I ate a severe amount. There’s other nice little places to eat around if you don’t like Chinese. We found a lovely little Italian as well but don’t ask me where it was or what it was called coz we found it by accident and were both severely locked leavin’ coz we’d had a bottle of wine each! I think I may have had lasagne. Charmin tells me I did coz she noticed when it came back up on the way home from the pub.

WHERE TO DRINK

Well mostly we met up with a few of our gay friends and went a bit wild on Canal Street! Poptastic was amazing fun and Charmin had great fun drinkin’ this very strange combination of cheap alcopops all at the same time! See you get one of them plastic pint glasses and turn 3 upside down into it and then drink it with a straw! The poor girl was out of the game! Canal Street can be a bit mental in fairness! Out until 6 in the morning of a Thursday! New York New York was gas craic.

WHAT TO DO

I won’t lie, I couldn’t really find much in Manchester to do except eat and drink and sleep! I did however go shoppin’ quite a bit and I was a great fan of the Arndale Centre. I also decided to take a little trip out to the Trafford Centre and Charmin, not being the shoppin’ animal I am decided not to join me! I arrived home about 8 hours later and Mastercard are still waitin’ to be paid. I might sell a kidney.

OTHER TIPS

Don’t drink those cheap alcopop things no matter what Charmin Eletrik says! My stomach wasn’t the well of it! Well it was either that or the Chinese.
